What do you think would be the best solution to the problem of rising sea levels caused by global warming?
My Guess would be to drill holes in the ice at the north pole, and pump sea water out of the Arctic ocean and spray it ontp the snow. It’s so cold there the water will freeze immediately. We could turn water into ice and pile it up at the pole. (the water removed from the Arctic ocean will lower sea levels all over the world. There are some Russian nuclear submarines, they don’t use any more. Those sub’s generate electricity which can be used to power the pumps.
Won’t work. Sea water has too high of a salt content and it is NOT cold enough to make it freeze. (It does not freeze now, does it?)
Try it yourself. Make two ice cube trays. One with just regular water, the other with salt water with a salt content equal to the ocean. Put them both in your freezer. Guess which one will not freeze.
If you are not up to that experiment, why does putting salt on ice cause the ice to melt? It lowers the freezing point.
For your plan to work, they would have to distill the water first, then spray it onto the ice. But in doing that, they will be adding even more heat to the mix and actually making global warming worse while they fix the north pole.
Remember, it is not the ice that is the issue, it is the over all warming of the earth. A localized improvement that hurts the world as a whole is no improvement at all.
