Metamucil?

Does metamucil tend to change your bowel habits? I started taking it because I have a hemorrhoid that bleeds, and I wanted to make my stool more bulk-like, and I actually do notice a difference in my bowel which has progressed. But the thing is ever since I’ve been on Metamucil which has been about a little over a week now, it causes me to go use the restroom again in another hour or so after my first movement, and the second bowel movement is looser, and it upsets my hemorrhoid and I do bleed a little. What I guess I’m asking is will my body need to adjust to the additional fiber intake until I can expect normal 1 time bowel movements so I don’t have to upset my hemorrhoid?

Metamucil is a bulk-producing laxative and fiber supplement manufactured by Procter & Gamble. The Metamucil brand has existed since 1934. The active ingredient is psyllium seed husks. It is often used to treat constipation, hemorrhoids, diverticular disease, and irritable bowel syndrome. It has also been shown to reduce cholesterol when taken daily.[1] Metamucil is sold in powdered drink mixes, capsules, and wafers.

In 2007, Metamucil began repositioning itself as a beauty product, adopting the slogan “Metamucil: Beautify your inside.”[
