first trimester hemorrhoids
22 Weeks pregnant… Hemorrhoids???
This might sound really gross, but I sometimes have blood in my stool, or when I do “number 2″ it tears, and I might bleed. This has gone on for like a year and a half now. Well, I’m 22 weeks pregnant, and last night I had to do #2, and noticed that there was like, A LOT of blood that came out. Kind of like I was on my period, but the other way, and REAL blood. Well, this morning, I tried going #2 again, and the same thing happened, but not as much. Today I received an email about hemorrhoids in the 2nd trimester, and it gets worse the more the baby grows. Has anyone experienced this??? What did you do to stop it? Like… I’m not in pain, it’s just making me bleed when I go to the bathroom.. Is this hemorrhoids? Please help! I’m going to my OB tomorrow for a scheduled appointment. Should I just wait, or go today?
I have had the same thing, only it started as soon as I got pregnant because of the constipation and hard stools. There have been times where I would bleed so much that the water in the toilet would be filled with blood and I have even had large blood clots when I wiped. (TMI, I know, but it’s pregnancy and you can’t help it.) It’s totally normal, but you need to start taking a stool softener like Colace every day with your prenatal vitamins. It will help so much. My doc prescribed me a new prenatal vitamin with a stool softener in it, and my hemorrhoids and constipation have gotten a lot better.
