do I have hemorrhoids?
First off, I apologize for the awkward question.
I am 21wks pregnant with my first. I have been constipated for a while now and was finally able to go to the bathroom. I had to strain in order to do the deed and when I wiped, I noticed a lot of bright red blood on the toilet paper (there wasn’t any weird discoloration to my bowels itself). It looked as if I had my period. This has happened in the past, but the blood before was just a tiny bit and I figured it was from a bit of external tearing due to the constipation. This time there was a lot of blood. After cleaning up, I check again 5 minutes later and I had not bled anymore. I’ve heard that hemorrhoids are common in pregnancy. Is this something I should be worried about? Thank you for your help.
Thanks ladies for your time and thoughts. I feel better and am not as worried, though I will heed your adivce and talk with my obgyn.
Sometimes when you are constipated and you push to go you will tear a little down there and bleed a little.
You should get some Colace, I’m 23 weeks pregnant and have been taking it since I was 5 weeks. It will help you go a lot easier.
