Can antibiotics cause digestive problems that result in vaginal and anal burning??
About a year ago i was sick with mono and was treated with antibiotics. Since then, i’ve had chronic burning vaginally and anally. I thought it was a yeast/hemorrhoid problem, respectively, but gynos and other docs say thats not it. Also, i’m super sensitive to everything i eat!! Coffee, chocolate, spicy food, garlic, lemon, tons of stuff, its crazy!! I have an appt. with an allergist and a gastroenterologist next week but want to go in with some ideas first. I’ve tried everything else!!
They can cause a lot of different problems. You have bacteria all throughout your body including your gut and vagina that help to maintain a healthy balance. When you take the antibiotics, they usually kill off a good amount of these good bacteria as well as the bad. Once you stop, though, they should get back to normal.
